Background:
Every taxpayer may be subject to audit by the tax authorities. The audit results are set forth in the tax assessment letter issued by the tax authorities, in which the contents of such assessment letter may differ from the taxpayers’ calculation. The difference may burden the taxpayers hence leading to disputes between the tax authorities and taxpayers.

Tax disputes over the tax authorities’ provisions from the audit results may be resolved through objection. However, if the objection results are unacceptable, taxpayers may attempt to settle the tax dispute at the tax court through appeals or lawsuits. In essence, the filing of objections, appeals, and lawsuits is a form of taxpayers’ entitlement to address the possibly burdensome tax assessment resulted in the audits.

This seminar is designed to discuss all matters related to audit, objection and appeal processes elucidated above. The seminar also provides the strategy to ensure the taxpayers’ position in the disputes and how to prevent potential disputes, as well as discussions and comprehensive explanation pertaining to the current Regulation of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Indonesia, Circular Letter of the Directorate General of Taxes Number SE-15/PJ/2018 regarding audit policy.

Topics Covered:

  1. Tax legislation pertaining to audit, objection and appeal;
  2. Tax audit methods utilized by the DGT;
  3. Information and Documentation Management;
  4. Taxpayers’ rights in audit, objection and appeal;
