This edition of the newsletter reviews government policies in increasing the housing price thresholds for VAT exemptions. The government has also recently issued a regulation to provide certainty regarding the taxation aspects of free trade zone products through PMK No.84/PMK.04/2019. In addition, in light of the annual tax return submission, the Directorate General of Taxes has issued two announcements, first, requesting corporate taxpayers to re-upload their annual tax return attachment documents due to the DGT’s system technicals error and second, abolishing penalties for the late payment of income tax the May 2019 tax period. Moreover, the government has issued a new regulation concerning the procurement or auction for companies wishing to provide information system services within the Ministry of Finance as well as provisions regarding the temporary imports or exports of motor vehicles through cross-border control posts.
