In line with its vision, DDTC has continously developed the knowledge of its employees through its Human Resources Development Program (HRDP). In December 2015, as part of Tax Compliance and Litigation team, DDTC gave me the opportunity to join international tax conference “BEPS and Beyond BEPS – The Impact and Next Steps” held by Foundation for International Taxation (FIT) in Mumbai (India). Slightly different from other HRDP, fortunately, I had the opportunity to join this program along with DDTC’s Managing Partner, Mr. Darussalam.

Each year, FIT holds this conference which is attended by participants from around the world. This year, the conference focused on recent updates in international tax field, namely: BEPS Action. This conference was held for 3 days and consists of 15 panel discussions with more than 80 speakers who are experts in the field of international tax coming from all over the world, such as Jeffrey Owens, Michael Lang, Mukesh Butani, Pasquale Pistone, Sol Piccioto, Kees van Raad, and so forth. Throughout the panel discussions, I was highly impressed by all the panels that have in-depth and broad understanding on international tax issues, from conceptual to practical matters. Moreover, by joining this conference, I had the precious experience of meeting other participants, from various professional backgrounds who have had decades of experience in the field of international tax.

After the conference, I also had the chance to travel around Mumbai and visit several famous places such as Qutub Minar, Humayun's Tomb, and the Gate of India. Furthermore, before returning to Indonesia, I had the opportunity to visit one of the wonders of the world, Taj Mahal. Overall, I would like to say thank you to DDTC that has given me a tremendous opportunity to learn about international tax as well as providing in-depth understanding of its most recent issue directly from the experts. I will never forget every moment of this program!
