Since the first day of my internship, I have seen that the commitment, importance and quality of work that DDTC asked from me are relevant. Honestly, before joining the DDTC-internship program, I lacked tax knowledge and the ability to analyze, and academic writing as well. But, it is now different. During my first month of internship, I did a lot different tasks and learned so many things.

First of all, this internship has helped me develop my analytical and interpersonal skills, two important issues in the consultancy area. DDTC has given me the chance to get an overview of tax issues especially litigation and compliance issues and get a grip of various tasks such as: reviewing tax company matters, drafting objection letter, analyzing clients’ tax problems, and also working in a team. Furthermore, with this work habit that DDTC taught me, I could see and understand how I could handle the work load with my ability. Then, these assignments gave me ability to manage my time, time to work and write my thesis. Yes, when I was an intern, I was working on my thesis too. But, I managed to finish all of my duties easily and smoothly because of my colleagues’ help and support.

In addition, by joining with DDTC-internship program, I was able to meet various clients from various types of business with various tax problems too. Therefore, it triggers me to test myself and to test the application of my capacities and my knowledge, not only academic but also personal, as it pertains to the reality of where my jobs and my career are, something you can’t find in your college seats or your books to solve tax matters.

From this internship, what I believe is theory without practice cannot prepare you to succeed in life. Practical application is very essential. It is even more vital for a great student to experience what he or she has studied. In a way, this internship opens several doors to your future. Believe me, you will have the time and opportunity to reflect and contemplate on your classroom activities. Therefore, participating in an internship program for 6 months will prepare you fully to succeed in your future career.
