Having the opportunity to study abroad is certainly every person’s desire. Moreover, it is obtained through full scholarship. In mid 2013, I was honored to have received a scholarship from DDTC to attend Tax Law Summer School: Value Added Tax (VAT) Program held by Universidade Catolica Portuguesa, in Lisbon, Portugal. This opportunity was my first experience to step foot in Europe and at the same time, it was my chance to get knowledge from a country far away from Indonesia.

Throughout this Tax Law Summer School, I really obtained new knowledge and so many precious experiences. In addition, the fact that the materials presented in this VAT program were complete and comprehensive and the clarity and simplicity with which the lecturer delivered the materials were the main attractions for me.

Furthermore, this study opportunity also provided me with new experience to interact with people from various parts of world. With the number of participants which reached 27 people from different countries, it became a challenge for me to be able to interact and socialize with the other participants. I can say, this interaction and socialization, have given me so many insights about the taxation systems in other countrie.

For the knowledge and new experiences that I obtained, I would like to thank DDTC that had given me this opportunity. By this opportunity, I was able to join the VAT course and was taught directly by those skilled in the field and was able to meet the people from different countries and knowledge. This was a very special opportunity. Without it, I certainly would not be able to pursue this precious experience. Hopefully, this experience could be beneficial for me and the development of DDTC.
