My name is Anak Agung Sagung Saraswati Dwipayanti Putra. I joined internship at Danny Darussalam Tax Center (DDTC) for three months from June to August. Transfer Pricing Services Division is the division from which I learned at DDTC. I belonged to a team of 3 DDTC professionals. Being part of a professional team that directly serves DDTC’s clients becomes a rare opportunity for interns like me to truly experience life as a tax consultant.

At first, I was frightened because of my lack of knowledge about transfer pricing. I even brought some transfer pricing books to support me while interning at DDTC. The International Tax Course I attended at campus is far from being "enough" for me to understand transfer pricing so I did not have any knowledge related to transfer pricing. However, on the first day of my internship, my brothers and sisters in the team gave me transfer pricing materials and made sure that I had a basic knowledge of it. This transfer of Knowledge is what creates a significant difference in my view of DDTC and other tax consultancy offices.

Another thing that makes me feel lucky to do the internship program at DDTC is the knowledge which I can not get from reading books or doing administrative tasks. My siblings transferred knowledge in a way that is not old-fashioned, learning by doing. Every assignment given to me during the three-month internship at DDTC was gradually given. The task given on the first day trained me to apply the material that my older siblings had described. The knowledge I got on the first day at DDTC even exceededed the knowledge I got in international tax courses. Increasingly, the tasks became more difficult and required a deeper understanding of transfer pricing. Increasing the level of difficulty gradually made my understanding not halfway. The knowledge that I mastered as an intern at DDTC is vast, ranging from theory, concept understanding, to practice in the field. Clients served by DDTC also have diverse business backgrounds. It also adds to my knowledge of the industries in Indonesia. One part of Transfer Pricing Documentation product is industry analysis. The analysis encouraged me to think fast and do research at the same time.

During my internship at DDTC, my siblings always explained the urgency of the tasks I was working on. Only by working on transfer pricing documentation can I gain more knowledge related to the courses I got at campus. In addition, I was given the opportunity to draft the document from the beginning in order to understand the phases of compiling the document properly and correctly. The friendly office setting allowed me to ask various things to other professional employees outside my team. Unrestricted communication adds to my knowledge more and more. There is also a library facility provided by DDTC. The library provided me with useful sources of information for writing scientific papers and the like. The library provides books and journals that are not easy to access freely.
