Study Excursie of Brawijaya University’s Vocational Program

Himpunan Mahasiswa Perpajakan Vokasi Universitas Brawijaya (UB) menyambangi Menara DDTC untuk mendapatkan input mengenai dunia karir di bidang perpajakan sekaligus menambah wawasan terkait profesi konsultan pajak di Indonesia.

Kepala DDTC Fiscal and Research B. Bawono Kristiaji menyambut hangat kedatangan mahasiswa pajak Vokasi UB tersebut. Dia mengatakan company visit ke Menara DDTC merupakan merupakan pilihan yang sangat tepat, mengingat DDTC merupakan institusi pajak lokal yang telah diakui secara global.

“DDTC merupakan tempat yang sangat baik untuk berkarir. DDTC memiliki program training, penerbitan majalah, hingga consulting. Terlebih, DDTC adalah satu-satunya institusi pajak lokal yang sudah diakui secara global,” paparnya di Menara DDTC, Selasa (16/10).

Lebih lanjut, Bawono menjelaskan pendidikan pajak merupakan ilmu yang dinamis sehingga penggalian lebih dalam atas pengetahuannya harus semakin digali dari waktu ke waktu. Oleh karena itu, DDTC pun memfasilitasi pegawainya untuk menjalani Human Resource Development Program (HRDP) untuk belajar pajak di dalam maupun di luar negeri yang seluruh biayanya ditanggung oleh DDTC.

Dalam acara ini, mahasiswa pajak Vokasi UB juga mendapatkan edukasi terkait profesi pajak di masa mendatang serta mengenai pembahasan Rancangan Undang-Undang (RUU) tentang Konsultan Pajak.

Staf DDTC Fiscal and Research Hessy Erlisa Frasti menyebutkan jumlah konsultan pajak di Indonesia masih sangat minim jika dibandingkan jumlah wajib pajak yang kian meningkat setiap tahun. Berdasarkan data DDTC, rasio wajib pajak dengan konsultan pajak terkini yakni 1 : 73.429.

“Rasio jumlah konsultan pajak terhadap jumlah penduduk di Indonesia masih kurang ideal. Terlebih jika dibandingkan dengan Jerman yang memiliki rasio 1:1.124. Hal ini membuktikan konsultan pajak di Indonesia masih sangat dibutuhkan,” tutur Hessy.

Selain perlu menambah kuantitas konsultan pajak, Staf DDTC Fiscal and Research Dyah Ayu Ambarwati juga menekankan pemerintah perlu mengontrol standar kompetensi atau kualitas konsultan pajak Indonesia. Standar ini menghindari wajib pajak dari konsultan pajak yang tidak berkompeten.

“Dalam menambah jumlah konsultan pajak, pemerintah perlu memasang standar kompetensi dan harus dikaitkan dengan jumlah konsultan pajak yang ideal atau proporsional sesuai kebutuhan,” kata Dyah.

Kendati demikian, upaya menjaga kualitas tersebut seharusnya tidak dipahami sebagai cara untuk melakukan penyaringan secara ketat atas siapa yang memiliki kualifikasi sebagai konsultan pajak. Namun, lebih menekankan kepada langkah pemerintah maupun organisasi profesi untuk menjaga kualitas konsultan pajak secara kontinu, misalnya melalui pelatihan atau Program Pendidikan Berkelanjutan (PPL).

Pasca pemaparan materi, seluruh mahasiswa beserta dosen pendamping dari Vokasi UB diundang untuk mengunjungi DDTC Library. Sebagai kenang-kenangan, DDTC memberikan buku Konsep dan Studi Komparasi Pajak Pertambahan Nilai (PPN) terbitan DDTC kepada mahasiswa dan dosen pendamping yang hadir.

On 9-10 May 2015, Airlangga University (UNAIR)’s Taxation Diploma Student Association held Tax Competition 2015 located at UNAIR, Surabaya. This competition is a tax competition in the national level with students from a number of universities in Indonesia as the participants and sponsored by DDTC.

The competition was joined by 39 teams comprising 117 people. They came from the University of Indonesia, Wijaya Kusuma University, Swadaya  Gunung Jati Cirebon University, Surabaya University, Politeknik Negeri Malang, Widyatama University, Trisakti University, Widya Mandala Surabaya University, Petra Christian University Surabaya, Soegijapranata University, and Airlangga University.

Moreover, the competition was attended by 3 (three) competent members of the jury in taxation, namely Okta Sindhu Hardinata (UNAIR’s Taxation Diploma Lecturer), M. Zeti Arina (Ketua Ikatan Konsultan Pajak Surabaya/Head of Tax Consultant Association Surabaya), and Awwaliatul Mukarromah (DDTC’s Researcher).

The competition lasted for two days. On the first day, the event went on for a long time and five teams managed to go on to the semifinal. On the second day, the semifinal and final were held. From the remaining five teams, two teams were to compete in the final. The two teams came from the University of Indonesia and Trisakti University. Upon the judgment and consideration of the three members of the jury, the first prize went to Trisakti’s team, comprising Aini Fitriani, Camelia Mayang S., and Muthia Safira A.

The event was concluded with a group photo of the winners, jury, committee, and attending participants. The event is expected to continue to be held in the forthcoming years and to increase Indonesian students’ enthusiasm towards the development in the taxation world.
